Investment Banking CertificationQuestion: What are some mistakes a newly hired investment banking professional might make?

Answer: There are a few common mistakes made by newly hired entry-level investment bankers. As the job’s hours are normally very long (with 80 or more hour weeks not uncommon), one mistake is not taking advantage of chances to actually end the workday; some junior bankers feel the need to act tough by staying at their desk until the last of the other bankers head for home. In short, if you have completed your work, and no one needs you for other tasks, head home.  Another mistake is to treat your co-workers as competitors or rivals rather than as teammates. Lastly, some bankers may foolishly rush to deliver their work without taking the time to check it for errors.
