Answer: The vast majority of entry-level investment bankers, whether they are analysts or associates, will go through their own firm’s investment banking training program. The programs may vary in length from a couple of week to a couple of months, and they may take place at the headquarters or an offsite location. Many programs will expose their participants to general accounting principles, corporate valuation techniques, financial modeling, deal processes (such as those for an M&A deal), capital markets concepts, and the bank’s internal processes. Training programs are also a great chance for the incoming bankers to network with each other.
