Virtually all analysts have a degree from a 4-year university, and many associates (and higher-level bankers) also have graduate degrees, the most common of which is an MBA but some professionals have degrees in law or other business-related fields such as economics, mathematics, statistics or the like. It is not necessary to major in business, economics or accounting as many liberal arts candidates make it to the investment banker ranks.
