Financial Analysis Training & Glossary TermsContingent Asset: Often times, the economic benefit of an asset is dependent upon the future events of a company. And the company has no control over it. These assets are recorded in the company’s financial statement notes but not in the balance sheet due to the uncertainty of the future events. Such assets are termed as contingent assets.
