Accounting Policies: As the name simply suggests, the policies and procedures that a firm follow while preparing its financial statements are termed as accounting policies. Often times, external accountants are hired to review a firm’s financial statements and it is important for them to make sure that the statements conform to the accounting principles as stated in the company policies.
